When out, most of my attention is focused on approaching. However, due to what I am told are good genes, being approached is an equal battle. When it is subtle I can easily control or diffuse. But when handling direct attacks, I often find myself lost.

I.e. group of party girls (bachelorettes, birthday) buy me a shot across the bar. If of interest, I will respond by approaching and partake with the group. This is the point where one "the loud one" indicates that her friend is the one interested. But, now the interested girl is embarrassed and shells up.

What I need is ways of defusing the defense if interested, and making the transition into isolating her without a spectacle from her group?
