this latter way i would not have to build comfort futilely if she ends up marrying the guy.
So basically the questions are
1)What should I have done when she mentioned her boyfriend?
2)The fact she closed me and didn't mention her bf till very late means that she is likely to cheat?
3)What should I do next- build comfort or tell her my attentions and let her reopen me one day when she is single.

3) Write her e-mail and tell that you were in a hurry and forgot to ask her phone number. When you get her cell phone number you wait 2 or 3 days, give her a call and invite for a date.
