I've been trying to think of one for myself over the past few days, and I can't think!

Is it something that should come to me eventually, something that someone should give me, something that I've already been known by, what?

I mean, from the time I was ten to the time I was sixteen, I was "breaker101" on forums, etc. Now I'm "thatkidej". Someone attempted to nickname me "skittles" back in my raving days.

Help me out, I want an alias!

Maybe something that defines my personality? I'm the engineering mind type. I take things apart to find out how they work, and usually end up breaking them out of curiousity, just how Juggler described himself. That's why I was "breaker" for so long. That and I was into breakdancing for a while.

I don't know where I came up with thatkidej, I think it's because I'm usually known to people who don't know me, because I'm extroverted. So I just assumed that's how people refer to me, especially at college, because I'm the youngest in all my classes.

Dunno where skittles came from, although it might have to do with the intense amount of kandi bracelets I wore to raves.

I want something memorable to everyone. Something that tells people about where I am and where I've been. I've been through a LOT of crap for a person my age, and I tend to get past anything, with the right motivation.

Thanks for the help :)

It's really up to you man. What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

Some guys change their name whenever they think they've discovered who they "really are". Some guys pick an alias and just stick with it. To some people it means something (mine was mostly just a name till I realised that Rye suits my personality better than my real name), to others it's just a handle for forums and such.

Some guys introduce themselves as their handle (all my friends and girls call me Rye, even when they know my real name, because it suits me better), but some use their real name. Mystery goes by Eric in the field. Style goes by Neil.

Figure out what a name means to you and decide whether it is worth stressing over or putting in the hands of others.

That's a pretty legit response.

I'm not really looking for a name to please other people, honestly. I just want a name that can sum up my past, present, future, ambitions, personality, everything. Know what I mean?

Then you're not gonna have any help finding that from anyone else. That's something you need to figure out yourself. Until that time, stick with what you've got; as I said, what's in a name?

I think once you start working on your inner game and figuring out who you are, why you're here and where you wanna go, then you're gonna have an idea of how to tie that all together into a name for yourself, at which point you can change your name in your profile.

when you find the right name you'll know.

it's an identity that you choose to portray to everyone and it may come to your mind and it might come to you from someone else, knowingly or not, but it will stick.

my name, Love John, has no meaning i can think of other than a joke between a friend and me. it came from the iron sheik.

but keep searching, and it will come. just be zen about it man.

Fo sho, thanks guys.

What I gather from everyone's responses is that I should fall into the name, and not try to pull myself into one.

Besides, I can imagine I'll be hugely different at the end of my PUA journey, so why start an alias I won't finish with?

Why the hell do you care about a name? Do you plan on starting a Vh-1 show and need an alias to protect your identity so you aren't mobbed by the paparazzi?

If you actually intend on introducing yourself as "Vendetta" or "Python" to girls, God help you.

Ahahaha.

It's more as a forum name than anything, I can't be thatKIDej forever.

And think, 90% of everyone who's made a difference in the community has/had an alias.

Exactly, it's a forum name...so who cares? Are you worried that teh interwebz haxxorz are gonna think you're lame because you don't have a cool enough alias?

It doesn't matter if your name is God of War or Picklefucker. And yes, you can be thatKIDej forever if you want. The Achilles was not great because he had a cool name, he was great because of the things he did.

Hell, make your forum name Picklefucker just to prove that you really don't care what other people think. I think it'd be hilarious.

Wait, I missed this part in my first read. If 90% of them have it then you'd better find a cool one after all. I mean, how could you possibly become great if you didn't do what everyone else did before you?

I don't have to prove anything to you dude, but if you're gonna be argumentative about it, I'll mention ANOTHER reason I want a name.

I plan on doing things, going somewhere in life. I'm a freelance web and graphic designer, as well as aspiring musician. I plan on starting a clothing label, and maybe even my own record label someday. Rather than name it "picklefucker records" [although it really does sound funny] I want a name that's universal, and relates to me. Something I can span across anything I do, any accomplishment.

However unrealistic my life goals are, a wise man once said, "If you can accomplish your life's work in one lifetime, you're not thinking big enough," and I totally agree.
