So, I open the girl up by asking the time and come out with a funny response in the hope of making her laugh. This wont be enough to get her comfortable with me. She'll think that joke was funny and thats all.

So I follow it up with an opinion opener. Why do I do this? To take the conversation to the next stage and to get her comfortable with me?

I'm not asking for any 1 liners, just want to know why I need to go through these phases.

At what point can I be assured for sure that she is comfortable with me??

Also can someone please explain the mystery phases and how I know when in them. You know the A1, A2, C1 etc

Ditch that plan.
There are soo many possible outcomes in an approach.
All you have to do is talk to her like a stranger.
Not too intrusive on her life but.. not ANTI-Social.

So asking for the time is merely an example of what to talk about.
This is what I go by:

Time spent with her ::: Topics of Convo
1 second - 30 seconds:
- A simple question asking for the time, an opinion on something, nothing about her.
30 seconds - 3 minutes:
- Conversations about what you guys are wearing, something exciting that happened near you guys(The fight outside),
3-10 minutes:
- Get more personal, know her name, tell her exciting stories about what you did today
10-30 minutes:
- Go into comfort, treat her like a close friend, get number, hugs and kisses

And after that.. you should feel natural being around her and you won't even have to worry about "What to do next"

The WHOLE idea of this is making her feel like a stranger to a girl you have lots of sex with.

You know, I find it quite easy to talk to girls but I find the approach the weird part! After the approach, the conversation is quite natural and most times I make a connection.

But like I said, I feel I need a solid excuse to approach.

There's a couple of cute girls working in the shops around where I work. The shops they work for, I don't shop in. It just feels weird me walking in and initiating chat.

What could be the best way?

Same here!!
The approach is the only thing that feels 'fake' (for indirect game)
And it takes a couple of minutes to get settled in.
Thus I use C&F lines instead of opinion openers.
"Hey, you left your bra at my place. I have it in my car!"
and such xD
