ok so when i meet a girl and we start talking about the whole issue of relationships i always say.. that im not really looking for a relationship but if it comes my way im all for it..

and sometimes she like "ya i agree
im not looking for one either
blah blah blah
just looking to have fun"

ok i was saying this outta respect for the girl
so she knows where i stand
i never really thought it affected anything because with some girls ive k-closed and f-closed that i stated this to

now i met this girl the other day and i decided to make her my friend
we were talking about the issue of relationships.. and how i always state that to women
outta respect

she said to stop saying it and i agreed with her 100%
she said that theres always hope and if i state this it sometimes kills the hope
she said it sometimes better to keep them wondering and of course i agree with this

even though i agree with her 100% i wanna get other peoples take on it

Why would you tell a girl you just met you don't want a relationship? That eliminates a majority of girls out there that do want a relationship from wanting you. You are basically cutting your chances down for no reason at all.

I view this as DLV. Remember--you're the man. You know exactly what you want, and you know how to get it. You don't wait for things to come to you.

It would almost be better to just say "I'm not looking for a relationship" and leave it at that. MSmith has a good point though. Why volunteer the information that you don't want a relationship when most girls do?
