I saw an HB7 and I was going to say it, but she got off the next stop... fuck! hahaha. Obviously now I kinda fine-tuned it to make it sound better than it probably would have yesterday.
Me: Hey I need your opinion on something... I think im kinda screwed
Her: Sure...
Me: Okay well, I'm heading out to this party that an acquaintence invited me to. And well, I just found out my ex-gf is there now, and this shirt I'm wearing was a gift from her while we're together. What do you think her response will be if she sees me?
Any tips on making it better would be greatly appreciated =)

You were invited by a friend. You're cool, you have friends, right? And you want her to know you have friends, so say it.
Apart from that, you imply that you might be intimidated by your ex, or that you might be phased by how she reacts. DLV, big time.
You did well in picking a topic that she would find interesting, but your opener reflects poorly on you.
Of course, my advice for openers and routines is always "what matters more, someone telling you its good? or you closing because of it?" ...but I wouldn't expect any miracles when you go to test this in the field.
