Hey guys... my name is dan and im in my last month of high school, which means prom is right around the corner. I have had a problem jump out at me from seemingly no where and hit me dead in the face. I would like to state that i have a decent background in being a good flirt and a "playa". All my friends tell me that im one of the best talkers they know (i can get out of lots of situations through bullshitting, sympathy, etc...) I'm sorry this might be a little long but it is imperative that i explain my situtation. IF YOU DONT HAVE TIME TO READ THIS WHOLE LONG STORY: QUESTION IS: WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PLEASE A GIRL ON PROM NIGHT (MAKE IT MEMORABLE AND ENJOYABLE FOR HER) IF YOU HAVE TIME READ MY ENTIRE SITUATION, AS THINGS ARE A BIT MORE COMPLICATED THAT WHAT IS MENTIONED HERE.
This girl i went to middle school with (ali) lives across the street from me and we used to be good aquaintences. Anyways...going to different high schools seperated us and we went our own paths and havnt really spoken/hung out for over 3 years. Anyways i decided one day id text her and see what was up. We ended up texting for like 2 hours that night, with a bit of flirting going on. I made sure to ask questions that required her to give me her feelings on a subject, instead of Yes/no questions. So i figured cool, finally got in contact with her. Over the next few days i invited her twice to come hang out with me and my buds. Both times i got a seemingly BS answer. I figured heh what ever, dont need a third strike and i let it go.

A week later she calls me to ask me if im home (on my cell) i told her no but that id be home shortly. Upon comming home i went to her door and basically asked her what was on her mind. (Mind you im wondering wtf is going on since i thought i had already striked out.) She askes me what i was doing next friday and i responded with "I dont know what am I doing next friday Ali?" She blushed and said "going to prom with me?" I was shocked to hear this and cracked a few jokes like: "well ill have to think about that one, i get pretty popular this time of year. " Then i said "nah of course, id be honored to go with you". (i was going to a party the next night of a mutual friend of ours and knew shed be there) I said as i was walking off her porch "Hey just let me know if ya need a
ride up there tommorrow k?" She said ok will do or something like that.

The next day she texts me and asks what time i was gonna head up to the party, i told her probably at 6 when it started. I asked her the same question and she said something like "oh well...maybe in 45 mins when my mom gets home... i really dont feel like driving" i knew that was an invitation to give her a ride so i asked and she said "yes that would be awsome!!" Ok i pick her up all goes well (things are still a bit strange seeing that id be driving her in less than a week again...that time to go to prom) So we get to the party and she basically mixes and mingles with everyone which is totally her personality. Just one guy who is clearly a much better playa than me takes the attention of all the other ladies (not directly targetting ali). So i play passive (which was damn stupid now that i think bout it) and i drive her home that night.

We get home and she says thanks alot really had fun bla bla bla the usual words, then she gets out of the car. I get out too with her and say "Wait... theres one thing i gotta know... Why me for your senior prom? She rather quickly answers "well uhh 3 reasons...no 4 reasons: 1) You're a good dancer (im a pretty decent breakdancer and she knows. this) 2) You're polite. 3) i know you. 4) my mom likes you. Like a moron i just said ok cool all good reasons instead of saying something whitty. (was soooooo off my usual game that night, almost like when a wizard is stripped of his powers by god or something) so i said good night got into my car and drove the 40 feet across the street to my house lol.

What the HELL? Worst part about this is i have a girlfriend ( got her almost 100% using kino btw) where the fires are dimming and we just dont feel for each other any more. (thats my only justification for my actions so far) For the first time in my life i feel like im not holding all the chips/ im not in control/ i cannot tell if shes into me or not. What do i do?? any suggestions? Any tests or suggestions about what to do on prom night, when that same "playa" at the party who took all the attention away, will be present again this time? I feel that if she has enough courage to ask me (hard for girls to ask for some reason) she must have something for me, its just up to me to develope it. Even if she doesnt, prom night is a perfect night to spark any fires that may be laying dormant inside. WORDS OF WISOM PLEASE. ALL CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS APPRECIATED!!!

I honestly tried to read your post. I almost went blind on the first four lines. USE PARAGRAPHS and then we can give you advice.

Okay, first of all, the girlfriend needs to go. Take it from this anonymous poster on the internet that having a relationship die slowly and painfully is just not the way to go. Trust me. I did it and wasted about 6 months.

Prom will have a lot of energy already, very true. And you seem to be stressing about this other 'playa', don't even trip. Remember she picked you, you already have a leg up on the competition. Plus prom is a couple type of thing, unlike a party where the 'playa' was free to roam.

Hmm, my prom is a in bit we'll see how that goes. And let me know how yours turns out.
