I keep hearing horror stories with pua's using canned material and getting called on it but I have had some great success in opening with situational and a few personally developed opinion openers.

I feel like personal stories are the best because I have tried canned material and it seems like girls are catching on and testing you but this is my example of personal working out:
Ok so my buddy and myself were at a local hookah bar and decided to sit next to a 2set HB6 and 8. I turned over my shoulder and asked for a female perspective on a dating situation. I explained my friend had just broken up with his girl and wanted to know when it would be a good time for him to start dating again and as soon as i dropped this both stared at eachother and BAM broke into conversation with us, the benefit though is that this is a problem going on with my friend so when they asked us info on them, i didnt have to pull stuff out of my ass and they seemed a lot more willing to carry on the conversation since they realized i wasnt BSing the conversation. My only problem is that i have trouble establishing DHVs but work can be done to develope that, anyways just thought this would be a helpful post to all you noobs like me

That's pretty cool. From what little I know I wouldn't advise working with canned material unless you have a REALLY natural delivery and have great improv skills, because you never know when you're gonna get a curveball, and I've seen people get asked a question they didn't have an answer for and just fall apart on the spot.

You have the right idea. We don't need 50 mystery's and matadors running around this world, I think the canned material is only there for you to get an idea, or frame, and then make your own from there on.

As for the improvisational skills they are gained through mistakes, that is how you learn and adapt.

'Whether or not you agree with his harsh, straight to the point mentality, truth be told, he’s the most active/ dedicated / motivating member on this board. He’s routinely getting newbies and current members out sarging, pushing them into sets, given them suggestions and advice, replying to posts more often then anyone else. (Come out Wednesdays and you’ll see what I mean). Also, I have not once heard him making excuses about not going out and pussying out. If anyone else can show me this, I will automatically promote you to any status that you want on this board. (including admin).

Now .. I (and others) .. have tried a more sugar coated / feel good approach to getting guys to come out. Truth be told, it hasn’t worked anywhere close as well. I'm disappointed that with all the free resources, and the cool guys that we have offering free advice, so few people actually make use of it, go out consistently, and get better with women, instead of dabbling and keyboard jockeying.'
