Hello, I'm pretty new to this but have learned quite a few things as I've been going through some posts. I have seen several posts and articles mention the importance of eye contact which I have no problem looking into a woman's eyes in fact, I have put this a lot into practice recently. My problem lies in that I lost an eye some time back and have to wear a prosthetic. This causes me to look cross eyed to people and the look on my face when looking at that eye to appear lost as if I was just staring into space.

So for example, recently I was trying to talk to this one chick and was trying to make eye contact. I noticed from her that she would sometimes try to maintain eye contact but sometimes would try to avoid it. I've noticed this avoidance of eye contact several times from her and several other people.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a person in my situation?

You could try wearing tinted glasses. You could also try bringing it up if you sense they are wondering about it.

Whatever you do, don't give up.

I was considering tinted glasses but didn't know if it would sort of weaken the eye contact.

The last time I spoke to the girl mentioned, I did explain my experience but I didn't feel it really helped in her case but that may have just been because I messed things up with her in other ways.
