Hi there (tl;dr: used to learn 10 years ago, abandoned but could live with, now in crisis decided to pick it up again)

A short presentation, I'd be grateful to those who read or simply can respond to my questions: about 10 years ago, I had the usual "illumination", I read something about picking-up girl (in french, cause I'm french, probably one of the hardest field) it changed my life.
It was right after the beginning of the first generation of PUA led by Style, Mystery then Tyler D. etc..

Back then, because I was studying hard and started with a pre-condition for higher than normal anxiety, and there was not much specifics or ressources on the different problem I could face, I ended giving up after 2/3 years of trying out.

Well of course, starting from a complete...how'd you say...AFC? I however realise what the basic of women's brain was, of self-worth and confidence etc.

But today, in 2015, after a few stories with (I consider) few girls (sex friends and random encounter) until this NYE which wasn't great, and after letting my girlfriend go a year and half ago because I couldn't engage myself more, I completely fell into oblivion.

And because I have one of those very complicated sensitive mind, like a Rubik's cube which I've fucked with until I reached a point where I am completely lost in seduction, and partially abandoned.

Also I also think the context is very very different: I'm a bit older (29 which is still fine but gain a bit weight) and all this feminist craze has made it seemingly impossible to pick-up girl, not just for me but for a LOT of people surrounding me.

When I was learning the Game back in 2005/6 it was totally okay (in France) to approach and pick-up random girl, not just in bars/clubs but even the street. And now it's like it has become a social taboo (again in France, I can assure you that almost very few are approaching unknown girls in public places, it's more of social/work circle, groupie or online thing).

I decided to pick my shit up, and learn again. But since the community has exploded, I know there are literally hundreds of methods, and I also know most of them I had read or known about (ah The Venusian Artist, Ross Jeffries...) are becoming kind of obsolete or old, or simply not that up-to-date and sharp for today's society.

I stumbled on this thing, Girlfriend Activation System exactly like I did on my first PUA board years ago, and of course I'm wondering if it's a scam, if it works or more importantly how new/interesting/straight-up is this technic. I feel like while classic PUA leaves more room for artistry once you pick-it up, this idea to use women fantasies and erotic books, and, if I understand well, quickly mention these sex fantasies wrapped into some fantasy image of romance, is pretty straightforward, but I don't trust something that is presented as such a marketing scam with all those fake reviews everywhere.

So I have two question:
- How have methods evolved until now, what is the most straight-forward novel approach today?
- Since I'm here because I stumbled on that Girlfriend Activation stuff, how legit/efficient is it? Probably won't buy it unless convinced of the relevance, since I still know how women work approximately?
