You're still trying too hard to impress people.

I'd just avoid the sexist jokes. Yes, they can be funny, but the guys using them need a stronger frame than you currently possess.

I would probably personally say something like "If you don't like that, you probably shouldn't ask me what I think about Muslims"

But yeah, it's not actually an easy line to walk between "kind of an asshole" and "total fucking dick". Not one I'd suggest just anyone try.

It has got to come from a place of self-amusement. You need to be displaying the cool, fun, not giving a shit vibe before anything comes out of your mouth. RSD's "calibrate after" concept is just dumb, except in very limited circumstances.

For the sake of being really clear, compare these two scenes:

SCENE 1: A group of, say, 7 people are talking and laughing, you've been quiet for a few minutes, the subject turns to women and then all of a sudden you pipe up and say, "Women should be in the kitchen..."

SCENE 2: You are laughing and having a good time, everybody's attention is totally on you, you're rambling on about silly stuff, start talking about women, and then you say the same thing.
