I am considering opening a profile on POF. someone told me there are a lot of horny girls there and you just spam 1000 of them and you will get laid at least once a week. The reason I have not opened a profile yet is I don't want to face the truth, I am afraid they will all reject me.

but in addition to that, I have some more legit fears, and it has to do with safety.

1. how do you know the girl is not a serial killer?
2. how do you know her boyfriend is not going to come after you?
3. how do you know she doesn't have an STD? I really really dont want to have to deal with an STD, I simply don't have the time to deal with this kind of shit.
4. how do you make sure your relatives dont find out you are on pof? in our culture sex is bad. so lets say my parent's cousins find out and tell my parents "your son is having sex on pof" that will be really bad. I know its a remote possibility but you never know, it could happen.

Like with everything else, you need practice caution but not be paralyzed by fear. All those things you mentioned, can also apply to cold approach to girls on the streets or clubs. You need to barrel through that and take action. Moreover, the quality of girls will be better if you cold approach in person and your general social skills will improve. If you game enough girls, you will get laid. I've used Tinder before and swiped every girl to the right and worried about my matches later and then get the number and try to go for a date or pull straight back to my place.

1. There have been zero female serial killers in the last decade.
2. How many guys have you seen posting about banging girls from dating sites? How many stories about random dudes showing up with a beef?
3. STDs are not a big deal. Nearly all of them are easily curable with a shot or a pill. It's pointless fear mongering from sexual prudes.
4. Which concerns you more, your current lack of sex or how your parents will think about your new found sexual success? If you'd walk away from sex, provided your parents would find out, then I don't know what to tell you. Take a vow of celibacy I guess.

Bart, what are you wanting to do here? If I recall properly, you're over 30 and roughly average looking, yes? If so, I'm not liking your odds of getting even moderately attractive women with online dating. If you're up for banging fatties, then yes, it can work.
