I told my building's manager I used to be scared of dogs a long time ago but now I am not.

today I saw a milf walking her dog and I went and started talking to her about the dog. Then I started petting the dog.
Then the manager who saw all this comes out and says "am I seeing what I think I am seeing? no way" I said "why?" she says "you are scared of dogs?" I said "me? No, where did you hear that?" she says "you told me. you said you had a phobia and couldnt be within 5 feet of any dog?" then the milf said "you are scared of dogs?" I said "no, that wasn't me." the manager says in like a "ahhhhh you are so cute" kind of tone "aahhh you finally got over your fear". After she left, I told the milf "I think she is mistaking me for someone else."

how could someone be so ignorant? couldnt she tell I was trying to talk to this milf and leave me alone? and you guys always say "women know whats up" no they dont.

and more importantly, how would you have handled such situation?
