every week I go to an event. It's kind of a fun meeting where a speaker discusses life and religion and how you can improve yourself.

I dont really believe in religion but the speaker made a beautiful statement that I wanted to share with you guys. He said imagine there are 2 surgeons. one of them gets drunk the day of a surgery and doesn't wash his hands and uses a dirty scalpel. he basically acts like an idiot but his patient comes out alive and perfectly fine. in god's eyes, that surgeon is still a murderer, even though the patient didn't die.

the other surgeon studies the patient's condition meticulously and he practices on several cadavers the weeks before and the night before he gets a good sleep and the day of the operation he is really focused. but the patient dies on the operating table. in god's eyes, that surgeon saved the man's life, even though the man died. It's the actions that matter, the outcome is out of our hands.

then i started thinking how this is true in pick up. You can do everything right but the outcome is out of your hands. sometimes the girl is just a bitch and the outcome has nothing to do with you. it is your action (approaching) that matters, not the outcome.

anyway, I thought that was beautiful and wanted to share it. I haven't used the word "beautiful" in a long time, hopefully it doesn't make me sound old or gay.

That's a nice insight, or whatever you want to call it. I especially like what you say about the outcome, that it is out of our control, because it is so true. Just look at old videos with Mystery for instance (and probably other PUA "gurus" too), who claim they can get any girl they want, as if they are in total control. No one is, and no one can get every girl.

Sorry, but that's a ridiculous point that the surgeon who didn't kill anyone is a murderer.

Outcome independence is a very basic principal in pickup that addresses confidence. You should do things because you want to first and foremost, and not go against your principals or beliefs for the sake of getting laid because women can sense that kind of fakeness a mile away.

This seminar you witnessed was different at its core. From what I am reading, it addresses that right and wrong are not a result of the outcome. Our decisions can be immoral even if no harm is done as a result. This is a theological debate that has no real basis in pickup.

Just wanted to make sure everyone realized that.
