Most of the conversation is her talking about herself and me asking open ended questions with a few teases and maybe a little sprinkle of my life in DHVs which can also help her connect with me.

Will this style of game work if my body language is somewhat decent? I was wondering because I tried this out and a girl ended up trying to tease me (took it as an IOI) and she was talking non stop. I usually hold strong eye contact and whenever a girl shit tests me i just look away and then continue the convo with another topic. Sometimes this style makes me feel like im friendzoned but she was flicking her hair a lot and fixing her clothes. Also her movements got extremely animated the longer i held eye contact with her but as soon as i looked away she kinda started talking less and putting less energy into the convo.

that approach is fine, the main thing is to do your approach as many times and as often as possible. You can calibrate naturally from there.
