Do girls care more about height than looks, especially when the man is shorter than her?

Some do, some don't. You can improve your looks, you can't get taller. don't worry about it.

Agree.

I was never a "pretty boy", but I am relatively tall. Not a tower, but a little above average. And I think I was able to work with that very well. This is how I changed my look to enhance my attributes and hide my shortcomings:

I am tall, and since I was little I have always been kinda fat. Not a fat guy, but with a "spare tire" around my waist. That + tall = "big guy". I was never going to be slim and ripped like an athlete, so I hit the gym and focused on getting bigger. Not bodybuilder "puffed", but imposing.

I have a small bald spot on the top/back of my head, so I adopted a slicked back hairstyle with a small samurai ponytail.

Used to wear glasses, but did a laser surgery. My face is not the prittiest face on the block either. Big cheeks, fat lips, small double chin and because of my light complexion i get very red, kinda like a babyface. So I grew a beard. Baically I look like a younger version of Richard Marcinko.

And to complement that I usually dress in dark suits, trenchcoats, especially black leather or with a fur collar, or military style clothing if I am working on the field.

And that is how I used my natural attributes (size) and hid my shotcomings (ugliness) to get the general apearence of a badass special forces guy from an action movie. The secret is finding what works for you, and being coherent about it.

I would say on average height wins over looks except at extremes (if you are really fat and ugly or ridiculously good looking)

I'd say height is more important than looks generally (as guys, we all pretty much look the same), but it's not usually a complete disqualifier by any means.

I'm short and the only real issue I have with getting girls as opposed to taller friends is on dating sites. In person girls are typically just as easy as long as you have the right personality. At worst you'll have a brief moment of, "Is this short guy for real?", which, if you're legit, you should be able to get past without too much trouble.

I'm also a pretty boy.

I've read that scientifically, if you shave your head, you are perceived as taller, more dominant, muscular, but slightly uglier. I'm planning on testing this out this weekend.

I find online is best for shorter guys, as long as you are not too short. You really think if you are 5'5" you have a better shot in real life? I'm 5'9" in my profiles. More than tall enough to get more women than I can handle.

Really TheFury? I have 5'8" for mine, and I find I consistently get hotter women in person. Not to say that I haven't ever found a gem or two online, but the quality of women I can find in person greatly overshadows online girls.

Maybe my profile or pictures suck, or my personality shows better in person.

I saw an interview on TV with the actor that played Lex Luther on Smallville, once he got the role he shaved his head and said he got a lot more attention from the women.

Yes, but that depends a lot on your facial features. That guy looks good with a shaved head because he has a kind of a slim face with small cheeks and a well defined jaw line. When I first noticed I was losing hair I tried to shave my head. I used a military cut back then, so it was not that big of a change. The results were desastrous because I am kind of a baby face, with a bit of a double chin and big cheeks and shaving my head just accentuated those negative features.

I would very much like to shave my head and save the trouble of combing and using hair products, but it just does not work for me, just the same way I can pull off a look (slicked back hair and beard) that looks ridiculous on some people, nemely people who are slimmer or shorter than me.

View your look as a whole, so that you end up with a consistent image, not a colage of bits and parts.

Alright.... This is regarding looks.

It's called W.I.N.S.

W- Work out/Lift weights
I- Improve your appearance (get some nice clothes, wash your face, brush your teeth, etc.)
N- Nutrition. Eat as clean as you can and take care of yourself
S- SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

Simply put... Do what you can to look your best... Then shut the fuck up.

To that I would only like to add KISS

Keep
It
Simple,
Stupid

Don't overcomplicate or you end up looking like you are trying too hard. Not just on looks, in everything.
