Hey, I'm new and have been studying the concepts of the game on and off for about a month now. I have been out since with friends and watched both them and me crash and burn as always in the usual manner. However I have started to get an understanding of why. Now I know I need to get out and try some of the material I have been learning. However none of my friends seem to have any hope in all this (even though I have shown them that this stuff is tried and tested)

I need some advice on where to start. I will most probably be on my own, which i suppose in some cases is an advantage. I will be out in bars/ clubs in a town near to me but far enough not to have many known associates. I feel this would be best as I think it would give me more confidence.

Does anyone have any tips on how to operate on your own in a bar/club how to create some value and how soon to open? Would I just walk in and open the first set I see? Or do I just walk up to the bar and open a set there? I would probably be going for some kind of generic opinion opener.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes. Do that. Talk to everyone. As soon as you walk into the place, start talking. Now, you're not on your own anymore :)

As far as where you are going... While you might be more comfortable going somewhere that you have less possibility of running into someone you know, you're going to be further away from your house... meaning that you are screwing with your own logistics. In order to pull a girl back to your place, its gotta be within a reasonable distance. It's going to be difficult to get a girl that you just met to drive very far from the venue.

My advice, if you still choose to go that route, would be get a hotel within a few miles (at most) of the area you are going out. You don't necessarily have to book the room online or something a few days before... Just walk into the lobby the night you go out and get yourself a room. Doing that also might give you some extra motivation to bring a girl back so you don't waste your money on the hotel.

Don't think that just because you're "new" that you can't pull :)

I see what you mean, however I have this strange feeling that people will see me moving from set to set and think I am strange for doing so. However I realize that this is the total opposite but it's hard to get my head around.

What would you call "reasonable distance" to be at if I am driving. The nearest place where there is activity is around 15m drive away in either direction. There are pubs in my town but they are full of locals and people that I know. The main reason not to be in a place of people that I know is so I don't get distracted.

Good advice! Seems like I need to give myself a bit more confidence.
