So I recently joined POF just to mess around with and I saw this HB7 that I knew back in college. We used to party together but I didn't interact with her too much. We had a lot of mutual friends. She came on a beach trip with my friends and I one time but I was with another girl and she was my friends date for the weekend. Anyways 3yrs later I see her on this site and I message her:

Me: "Hey stranger whats new with you?

Her: "HEY Lol I just joined this site last night after some coaxing from my friends. But it's actually kind of fun. How have you been?!

Me: "HAHA yea my friend created this for me after broke up with my girlfriend a few weeks ago! Met some interesting characters on here though its fun for sure! I live by crabtree close to downtown now. LIFES GOOD! If you're in the area you should drop me a line! it would be good to see you!"

Her: "I'm sorry to hear about your breakup, but I hope you're at least having fun on here! For sure, I live in the area! Give me a shout sometime. 919-***-*****."

Question is did I make a mistake by talking about my breakup and/or justifying why I'm on the site? Second question how should I approach meeting up with her? text/ phone call? I haven't even sent her my number yet. Any thoughts or advice on how to approach this in the most alpha way possible. I feel like she's comfortable with me because she knows who I am and a lot of my friends.

Don't over think it

Just text/call her and suggest a private drink together.

Maybe you should game her a little on the texts just to make sure you're not in the friend zone

I'm just gonna say I agree with Pebble. I had a similar experience what happened I was dating this girl then woke up one morning to a break up txt in the meantime I re connected with this girl I had known from before, and said about the break up txt I don't know why it just came out. Anyway it didn't seem to affect her I gamed her a little over txt used a creative opener then when things were flowing I called her we went out. I made sure we had a great time and never mentioned it again. She hinted at it a bit, but I didn't talk about it as an effort to show I was totally over her. We went out a few more times and are still friends.

Like Pebble said don't overthink it just don't bring it up again and you're good
