Even though i have to admit that this is a shoe my grandpa would wear...But i respect everbodys taste of course.
The picture is not that detailed but from the shape its most likely a Mokassin Shoe.

Agree. It might look good with a bit of a twist, like aligator skin or something. But the standard grandpa shoes will not take you very far. I'm not trying to be an asshole, I'm just saying I don't think that would be a good choice for a player.

Sure, but still, they are a bit understated. Peacocking is about calling attention to yourself, and you won't do that with old man shoes. In my opinion, you should try something like this:

Perfectly suitable to a formal ocasion but with a bit of flair. You may be able to find cheap alternatives along this lines on Deichman's "Memphis" collection
