I'm having a problem with physical contact. I'm just not smooth.
I feel comfortable if I know the person I can make my move. However If I do not know the person I'm having a hard time to making things physical on first date.
Ps: Yea, yea I know I should start with small touches to shoulder, hands etc but these are not that possible when I'm sitting in front of her, I mean how many times I can touch her from other side of the table without getting awkward.

If not you have to "dip you toes in the water" so to speak, slow progression and if she doesnt like it she'll pull away or you'll get the "why are you touching me so much" line - of which you respond "I'm just a touchy feely kind of person" or similar.
You chose the worst possible place to sit, were there no booths with tables free? you need to be in a space where you are physically next to her, sofa, booth or standing. _________________ Peace,
