Broke up with my ex about 5-6 months ago. There was no contact and I missed her very much even though she made it clear in the end that she had no feelings for me anymore. It was her birthday and I sent her a text saying happy birthday, we exchanged some short texts (the how are yous, how's life, etc etc...) turns out she's a workaholic now.

I know it's a long shot and that I should still keep dating new women in the mean time but I keep fantasizing a scenario where we could get back together. That as long as she doesn't have a ring on her finger that maybe one day we could give each other another chance.

I'm looking for something I can say to her, something simple, that conveys that I still care about her but I'm not clingy or needy.

TLDR; Something short I can say to my ex in a sense that I'm throwing out my fishing net and hoping one day she might bite, while still catching other fishes.

The fact that she's a workaholic now means that she's not having enough time for life = no sex.
Try to ask her out one day so you can update each other about your lives and escalate.

Meet and game her like you only just met.
