Call me a generalist but I associate the negative aspects of previous relationships with other girls out there. This isn't approach anxiety its moreso approaching a girl and associating the negative things of previous partners to girls which are out there. This is cramping me no end.
Case in point, i'd approach a girl who I found attractive and if they had a mannerism, or attitude of similar to said ex and it would irritate me. It would sometimes lead to either me walking away or just developing a confrontative attitude to them. Not the fun, interesting and entertaining environment I want to be in.
I don't want to be like this, I think its a psychological thing that I associate with people. I do believe there are many amazing women out there, with a great outlook on life, but through my own thought processes I can't begin to disassociate them with my personal gremlins and past. Maybe i'm too pensive or reflective.
My ex's are exs for a reason and its not a case of oneitis, I think its an attitude or mannerism which I have which I need to shake.
The problem is personal, and I admit it as a weakness I do have. I was just wondering if anybody out there had any advice on how to shake this unfounded misogenism on my part. I really do feel disgusted because of it.
