Quick round of opinions if you will

I have been dating this girl for 3 and a half months. We like each other a lot, this is almost becoming a relationship (note: we are not an official couple, neither one of us has brought up relationships but both know where its heading).

Last night I fooled around with a girl I barely know, not even drunk. I did it because it was exciting, not thinking about the girl I am currently dating. I left the house at 5am straight after it happened and drove back to my home town feeling insanely guilty.

What do you think about this situation, and what would you do if it were you? Have I really broken any rules?

My last LTR I was fooling around with another girl a few months in, my girlfriend found out and flipped, but we weren't officially in a relationship so i said I didn't think I was doing anything wrong. Long story short she calmed down pretty quick.

That's happened a few times and never been dumped over it, so i wouldn't worry if i was you.

That's the advantage of not being in a relationship... You can do that stuff. I don't consider it cheating but everyone sees things differently.

Until you've had "that talk" you're free to do whatever the hell you want.

As long as there is no "status" for a relationship, you can do whatever you want.
That's just me though.

The problem is there's this obvious grey area when you start seeing each other a lot but no one has bothered to define it as anything. For girls if it "feels" like a relationship then to them it is, even to a guy a relationship is often merely implied rather than explicitly defined in words.

Us guys know when SHE thinks a relationship, but we kind of let her think that, it gives us a temporary get out of jail free card to cheat. That said some chicks use this grey area period to do the same.

Overall I reckon its a good system. Often you end up in this position after a long time being single and you're still used to sleeping around, but after a while you settle and get out of that mode. And often it takes one person getting caught during the grey area period to finally have THAT talk. But you only ending up having that talk then because one party or another presumed that the relationship was already implied, so its starts out as a cheating talk but ends up being THAT talk. And if one party thinks the relationship is implied, then usually the other side knows they think that, and let them believe it.

Long story short it is "legal" to fuck other girls during the grey area, but weather it is moral, that's debatable.
