I am real interested in this girl we go to the same university. I am an MBA and she is in her last semester of undergrad.

The past two days (Tuesday Thursday) that she saw me walked up hugged said she had to go but just wanted to say hi. I hadn't seen her in a while so I said we need to get together and catch up one time she said yeah.

So yesterday after she walked off to class I thought why didn't you ask her out so I sent her a Facebook message that said

Me:Hey I got some free time Sunday want to grab a cup of coffee and catch up?"
Her: "I am sorry I am going to see my family this weekend" (they life a few hours away)

I know asking someone out over Facebook is kind of a cowardly move but I was not thinking when I sent it. I am not shy about asking her out I mean if she was close I would have just done it to her face no problem but there are times that I don't think I just do. At That moment the only thing on my mind was ask her out so I did. I thought to myself u idiot should have waited till next time you see her.

She probably wasn't lieing I know she is not one to lie but idk and that still doesn't change my mess up

So I like he a great deal and even though I screwed up I am not ready to just move on yet but how should I proceed? I would ask he out face to face but since I already did (dispite it being a Facebook request) I would look needy if I ask her too soon.
