LOL at you guys talking about "crushes" and "the special one."
UNPLUG.
YOU ARE INDOCTRINATED.
You sound like women because you've been trained to think like them.
Go find some male role models, spend more time around dudes, and then let me know how much you hear about "crushes" and "the special one."
Actually the latter I can forgive, many many guys believe in the Soulmate Myth.
This ^^^^^
Who says there has to be "one" person you have to spend the rest of your life with? I mean... is there a rule book somewhere that says what you should "feel?" Seriously, let go of all the things you are taught to feel and self generate your own feelings. This can be taken to other ways too... Like fear. Or anger. Really any feeling that you are TOLD to feel, stop, and think about why YOU should actually feel that way. Is that something you REALLY want to do with the rest of your life? Spend it with one woman. Because that's what everyone else tells you to do... Or do you want to spend it with multiple women. I'm not saying make a choice right away. I'm saying play it out and see what happens. There is no need to feel any type of attachment towards anyone.
I agree only in part. I think that firstly it must be pointed out a big difference: If you're having a crush in reality you're having a one-itis. If you've fallen in love with someone... well, that's different.
I was a guy who believed that loved didn't exist till a year ago, I thought that people claiming to be in love where just misunderstanding their true feelings (in fact I think this happens a lot). Life proved me wrong!
But in fact nobody said that you can love only one person. If it was like this the chances of falling in love would be very little (we are about 7 billions, therefore the probability of finding the "one" special person would be, more or less, of 0.00000001%).
So, summarizing my point of view:
1- If you are attracted to a girl just because of her body, you're having a hard on
2- If you're attracted to a girl but you don't have any kind of feelings connection, you're having a one-itis
3- If you are attracted to a girl and your feelings are deeply connected, well, that's a point out of ten that says you may have fallen in love.
