Most of us have friends we go out with who don't know anything about pickup. I personally have never been out with a real solid wing who actually knows what he is doing. There are countless posts talking about how much you can benefit from having a wing who practices pickup. I know that there is a meetup section and I'm sure that I could find a wing there, but after going out with a few friends last night I realized that a few of my friends who I go out with regularly might actually be interested in learning.

The question here is obvious... when/how should you go about introducing a friend to pickup?

I'm sure that many of you have run into this same situation, especially the more experienced members. I believe that sharing stories of how you went about introducing a friend to pickup, whether it ended up good or bad, would likely be helpful to many people.

In my case, I have refrained from even mentioning anything about it because most of my friends would bust on me for it (which is all in good fun of course). I just simply haven't seen any reason to give them any ammunition lol. I have spoken with a few members here about it before and decided to only share information with my afc friends when they ask for help. A few of my buddies lately have been becoming more curious about how I know some of the things I know (losers ). I'm thinking about sharing a video or something with them just to point them in the right direction, but I haven't decided on anything yet.

You really can't convince someone to get into it. I will tell you man, especially with marketing my company I have learned this... the hardest thing to do is to convince a guy that he needs help with girls. It's a huge shot to the ego for some guys as it is. And then when they find out that they have to put their ego even more on the line and get rejected by girls all the time.... It makes it even harder.

The best thing you can do is to live the life. Once your friends realize that you are pulling girls left and right, they are going to start asking you "Man, how did you do that?!" then you can feel free to tell them. Become an example.

At the moment I have one friend who knows about PUA and only because I introduced him to it. We were sitting at a shisha bar casually talking about life and girls. We're both the same age (18) but I'd had more success with women than he did. He kept telling me about how confusing they were and how he didn't understand some of the things they did. So I basically started explaining what was going on with full PUA lingo...
E.g.
Him: Bro, I don't get it... I do all the right things, I'll go up to a girl to tell her she looks fantastic and shortly after I compliment her she just loses interest for no reason
Me: Yeah but that's because you're not demonstrating higher value bro. You need to give her a backhanded compliment called a neg to lower her value closer to yours and temporarily disqualify yourself in the process.

He asked me every now and again how I knew all this stuff and to further explain some of the tactics I was talking about (at this point I knew he was interested). I was tempted to tell him but I didn't because I wanted to familiarise him with some aspects of PUA first and also gauge his reaction on how receptive he would be to the idea (PROTIP: If he's a white knight in anyway don't ever bring up any aspect of PUA with him ever).

Anyway he seemed very eager to learn more about it so I one day just straight up told him about the PUA subculture. It went something along the lines of:

Him: That was some good advice you gave me man. I'm surprised you found the time to come up with all this.
Me: Actually they're not really all my ideas...
Him: Huh?
Me: Ever heard of PUA before?
Him: Nope
Me: Google it when you get home, lemme know what you think

He watched some of Mystery's videos and I swear he's picked it up faster than I ever thought possible. He's now my best wingman and much more confident around women than he once was. All in all I'd say everything went really well.

With your friend just introduce them to some aspects of PUA first, gauge how receptive they are to the idea and then slowly introduce them to it. Just make sure you don't throw them in the deep end and things will go along a lot smoother.

Best of luck bro,

Spark Plug
