daygaming in cities with little foot-traffic (houston)

If you live in a city where people don't walk around much, what do you do for daygame?

In Houston, and everyone drives. The only place I see a decent amount of foot-traffic is in the mall.
I'd kinda like to expand from there. Any suggestions for a daygamer in my situation or in Houston?
