I understand your point, and I think it depends on whether she grew up in a rich family or not. All of the girls in my family- cousins, sisters, aunts- judge a man by his wallet first. They are used to wearing Versace and D&G and eating out everyday. I've recently met a girl whose parents are millionaire from Dubai, and she is a spoiled little brat. I think it matters from person to person, as well as cultural values and other situational things.

Regarding your question, as long as you're making money and putting it towards supporting yourself or the two of you, it won't be an issue. On the other hand, if you laid around all day but had potential, then it'd be a problem. Make sure you're also striving towards making more, not just being content with 35k.
