| why not drink?
- is expensive
- is highly addictive, yes all drinkers say the opposite but once you drink you can never ever be in a social gathering feeling good and comfortable without alcohol
- bad for the health
- for me the most valuable thing in life is my awareness, and it affects your awareness
- changes your behavior
- alcohol depresses people, makes you happy for a while, but when the alcohol leaves your system your level of happiness decreases below to what it was before drinking. (are you talking about enjoying life, well once you drink unless you keep having alcohol in your blood system during your whole life, you'll enjoy it less)
- I find it really sad to put in the hands of some substance, this case alcohol, important things in my life such as my well being, my comfort, my confidence and social skills.
- It was really painful for me as a kid to watch my parents drunk, so I made a promise that I'll never hurt my love ones in such way.
- Is kind of sad to see that my father now as a grown up can only participate in a chat with friends after 1 beer.
- My long term dream is to spend my time after retirement, running races and trying to break world records of my age group at that time.
- You've no idea how good it makes me feel to see my high school colleagues looking like grownups, with bellies, pains, and having problems when climbing the stairs, when I'm still confused sometimes as a teenager and my physical condition and strength becomes better with each day that passes.
- I wait the whole week to enjoy my Saturday long run, without alcohol I can party all night long take the first train back home, put my running shoes and start running for 25km, and then sleep, while the friends I go with and drink have troubles to stay conscious all night and next day can't do shit.
- During the last snowboard trip that I did with some friends I was able to party every night and snowboard 12 hours a day, while my friends who drank could snowboard at most 2 hours.
- I'm happy and willing to party every night, my friends who drink they say things like:"no I'm not planning to drink this week, so I won't go out"
- I've lost 3 friends because of drinking and driving
- Drinking is involved in at least 99% of the fist fights.
- if alcohol was discovered today, it would classify as a class A drug. Go to any underground club where people abuse of all type of chemicals that you can imagine, and you'll see how the drunk ones are the ones that act in the most aggressive and stupid way.
I can really go on all day... but all the arguments I can give most probably will just bounce in the believe that "drinking is cool and that done in moderation causes no harm at all"
Everybody has its own body and mind and can do whatever they want with it, (as long as it does not affect others), it's just that in my vision of the world really I do not see how "drinking" fits in the "just enjoy life" category. In my vision of the world drinking fits in the "I'm cool because I'm escaping from reality and reveling against the system, by consuming the precise drug that is enslaving me to it."
