I recently started dating a girl I have known for years we have been seeing each other for 3 weeks and I'm thinking about asking her to take a vacation with me. Is it to soon for a week long vacation, should I shorten it or maybe wait for a while and ask her toward the end of the summer? Also I have already closed multiply times and thinks have been going fast and great between us. Thanks for the input!

But i would say go for it .. just ask it in a way that isn't super needy .. such as saying you are going to probably go on a trip and that maybe she can come .. maybe try a shorter get away first. also, how old are you>

It's really up to. If you intuitively feel that that's what you want to do, do it. Most people will tell you not to, and I will do the same.

Vacation is a make it or break it type of thing, especially for a week. You prepare together, you fly together, you do things together, you drink together, you share resources together. There's a saying that I've heard that if you want to see if she's the right one, go on vacation with her. Both of you are on foreign land and have no one there besides yourselves. It's a pretty big step.

Even if you're willing to take it, you don't know whether it will throw her off or not.
An option I would suggest, if you want to do something similar, is to get away for the weekend. You can find great deals online for nice places that are close by. Spend that time with her and then at the end of summer you can decide whether it's something you want to do.

Thanks, I'm 32 and I'm not going to ask her to go on a foreign vacation but instead just a trip to the beach...it would be about 10 hours of driving and I'm not to concerned about money or her saying yes bc I'm almost sure she would but not exactly sure what we will be doing once we get there....dinner beach etc. but I just don't know if a week is to long?

I think it's totally fine especially at your age.. i was asked to a wedding in a foreign country by a girl i had only been seeing about a month.. If you were 19 or 20 and girl was a similar age I'd probably propose against it.

How did you play going to the wedding with the girl? Did it work out? I'm guessing you didn't pay for everything but did you spring for the hotel? I'm thinking I'll pay for hotel, but should we split the gas food etc?

I didn't go.. just wasn't in the mood but re money she offered to pay everything for me. Either way, both of us were reasonably well off that the costs weren't really a factor regardless of who paid for what.
