Hello all. I'm looking for some advice/suggestions and will try and keep this succinct.

At closing time in a bar a girl came up to me, took my phone from me and put her number in. I was taken aback a bit as I had only briefly made small talk with her earlier in the night and I hadn't even been trying. I took my phone back from her and told her I'd text her. She, however, was expecting me to text/call her immediately so she could get my number too, but I didn't. The interaction ended with her saying "I don't think you'll text me."

The reason I didn't reciprocate immediately is because I'm currently in a relationship (that I've been considering ending) and so in the moment didn't think it was the right thing to do to let her have my number. But I haven't been able to get this girl off my mind since and I'm curious to know where this could lead.

I've decided I want to send her a text but I also want to be honest about currently being in a relationship. I realise that's going to get me nowhere with her but I guess what I'm hoping to achieve here is to initiate some sort of contact now so I don't lose her as a future possibility.

Is there anyway I can achieve this or am I expecting too much? What can I text?

Mentioning your relationship is going to kill your chances with the new chick, assuming you are interested.

If you aren't interested in the new chick, why text at all?

If you are - don't mention the relationship.

As an aside, why cheat? Break up with the girl you're seeing if you aren't happy and start gaming others...
