Start afresh. Most random adds are from spam or because there's an interest in the other person.
Maybe if you had been friends with them, never said anything, but wanted to try you could unadd and then readd? Too much trouble though if you ask me.
Also have fun play with it. Realize the odds are against you, just approach confidently and add humor!
