Hey Guys,

I think I know the answer to this question, but still would appreciate some thoughtful advice. This is a college environment situation. Met this girl, I like her, and am considering her for a possible relationship (if she isn't crazy of course). (Our social circles do not overlap whatsoever). Here's the thing, I met her at the end of the semester. We had just a few conversations and no deep conversation took place. She likes me. One day, after 10 minutes into the conversation, she casually blurted out her first and last name during a tangential conversation on some subject (we already knew each other's first names). I took this to mean that she wants me to add her on Facebook, but I don't have Facebook. Randomly, I told her that I don't have Facebook. After hearing that, she got quiet and thoughtful. We did not exchange phone numbers or anything of the sort.

So, the issue is that the semester is over. Now there are three months in between now and when we get back to campus. What do you think, should I (a) open a Facebook account and contact her; (b) send her an email (our university allows to look up people by first and last name); or (c) just have fun this summer and solidify things when we get back? I would like to preserve the little interest we have built towards each other, but am skeptical whether there is much value added in doing that via Facebook or email. On the other hand, I will be doing some very interesting traveling this summer, which could create for wonderful picture opportunities, which I could share with her and in that way keep her interest until the beginning of the school year.

I'm just curious what do you guys think about this situation. Please let me know, appreciate the support. Thanks.

You would lose a lot of value creating a facebook to specifically add her. If you must contact her, I'd go the email route. Enjoy being single during the summer, next time you she her make more of an effort to join/orbit her social circle.

Thanks guys, you've confirmed my thoughts. Great insight on orbiting the social circle, it didn't cross my mind before you said it. Appreciate the advice.
