Ok, so I met this cute girl at a club this past Sunday. She was cool, I was cool, got her number. Anyway, she texts me back at like 3 am saying she saved my number, and I talk to her a bit the next day, and make plans to hang out with her this Sunday (very tentative plans - all I've got was, "Do you wanna do this?" and her response was "Sure, sounds good").

How should I do follow-up for the rest of the week? Obviously just texting her Saturday or Sunday with, "We still on?" will result in failure, so how frequently should I be contacting her, and what should I be saying when I do? Random questions? Random funny things? Once every day or two?

Typically I say two funny things over time, and then ask a personal question. She's seemed down so far. She's very sarcastic. My introduction of, "I'm sortof a dick" worked well on her, and the fact that I knew where her home country is (I am an American, and she is originally from Bosnia).

Don't text her at all until Sunday unless she texts you first. You already have the date. All texting is going to do is fuck it up. Let her mind think about what she has to look forward to vs. you talking and shooting yourself in the foot. Leave it be.

That seems like terrible advice, in my experience (I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise though).

Then do some light funny roleplay to make sure the date's still on. "Sunday I'll bring the wine, you bring the good mood."

Well she responded to the "still alive?" text but not positively, and when I texted her today, she read it (she has read receipt enabled), but didn't respond.

So my assumption is that this entire "don't game over text" is bullshit, taught to people who don't know how to properly text.

Is there anyway to recover from a flake for a date?
