I’m due to graduate from university in May and with the current job market being what it is, I’ve decided to take the summer out and work abroad at Kavos, a popular European clubbing destination (for our American cousins a place similar to Cancun).
The job will most likely be promoting a club/bar, but is slightly different to other promoting jobs. Rather than setting up facebook pages and handing out flyers, what I’ll have to do is stand outside the club/bar at night and try to convince people to come in and drink there.
This strikes me as an amazing opportunity to advance my game, as all the bars are on one strip so the hundreds of holidaymakers will come past and I’ll be approaching hundreds of sets a day. I’ll be working there 7 nights a week for around 2 months meaning I’ll be approaching thousands of sets, kind of like an extreme workout programme for my game.
Another thing that strikes me is that it’s a great opportunity to get laid over summer, with hundreds of girls coming for their holiday (and we all know girls get wet at the scent of suncream). I’ll finish work at around 2pm every night, giving me enough time to go to the clubs afterwards to pull.
My main aim for the job is obviously to get people into the bar, but I also want to be getting number/kiss closes whilst working and setting up potential fuck closes for after work.
Obviously there’s going to be a lot of rejection involved. Speaking as a person who’s been on holiday in one of these places, the promoters are extremely annoying. The challenges are that:
a) You are fairly low value when working as there are loads of other people trying desperately to do the same thing (although when out of work your value sky rockets as you’re suddenly the guy that can get discounts and knows everyone)
b) The drinks offers will be pretty much the same everywhere meaning there’s not much else, apart from how good the promoter is at their job, to get people into the bar/club
c) A lot of people will refuse to talk to you or be very rude.
d) You’ve only got a short amount of time to talk to people. You’ve got 3 minutes max to get them into your bar because otherwise you’re ignoring too many other passers-by
So basically for every set that comes by I want to approach, get them in my bar and number close all in around 5 minutes or less, setting up potential for later that night.
Does anyone have any tips for the job to increase success rates?
