a flake hurts your ego, ignore your ego as it doesn't want whats best for you and will make you not text someone you could still potentially have a positive experience with, just to save face.
Ive had lays by swallowing my pride and txting her when in the same situation
completely play it off in a silly way with an inside joke, eg:
-"assuming you tragically died in a craft related accident, thus the no txt back... damn scissors! :p lucky my backup plans involved less scissor work "
-"assuming there was a natural disaster and you had to go save the world...thus the no txt back :p and yes, my backup plans did have a safe fire exit haha"
