As you can see, i'm a fresh out of the box newbie, but I have been reading up bits of what I can find from the pua community on the internet and i've been growing more interested in it lately. One piece of advice i've seen given by a few different master puas is that men should not be afraid of talking to the "10s" because even though it is commonly thought that they have many men to choose from, they actually rarely get approached because guys are too intimidated by them and think they are out of their league, so they go for the more average looking girls as a result, reasoning that if they get rejected by them, it won't be as bad compared to getting rejected by the "10."
I can see some merit to this logic and a good way to reprogram yourself not to put women on needlesly high pedestals and treat the hot ones like you would treat the average ones, but I find it hard to believe that the hottest girls are really the ones that are ignored most. I know there a lot of guys out there who don't have the balls to approach women (myself included

), but I still there there would be enough men out there, good or bad looking, who have the "nothing to lose" mindset needed for them go after women on a consistent basis.
The advice itself seems to be more of a selling method for the naive males, a way to say that even ugly guys can get stunning girls because men are too afraid to talk to them. Even if hot women were really approached less, that doesn't mean that they don't have standards and don't know they are a prize. Puas constantly say that looks don't matter to women, but they really kind of do. Women who make an effort to look sexy work hard at it (makeup, dieting, expensive hair salons, etc), and i'd imagine they wouldn't want to waste all of that effort just to land an obese short guy with no fashion sense. They are going to want a guy who is at least close to thier level if not right on it. Because of that, I think the advice of not being afriad to chase women who are way out of your league could very well be a setup for failure and embarrassment.
What are your thoughts on this, though? Feel free to share your opinion or tell me why i'm wrong.
