Yes this is basic PUA social interaction 101, however something i need to develop on is how to initiate conversation, i am fine when it gets going and in an environment such as a party, and its not approach anxiety, but how can i initiate conversation with someone in a airport or train station, or an environment which is not ideal for social interaction. I've noticed this is the most effective way of breaking down barriers and it does happen to me but often by mistake not on my behalf. Has anyone get any past experiences they can share, where they have initiated a conversation out of the blue with a person in an unusual setting ?
Saying hello my name is so and so, seems to end with disaster and is a big no.

your best bet is to make an observation and then and get a conversation going from that
