Ok guys i'm in some real need of help here!

There's this girl from high school, and this was years ago, grade 9 to be more specific.

anyways we used to have a crush on each when we were younger, i was going to date her and i guess i basically asked her out too soon.. she said she was not ready for a relationship. i really liked her, but being the stupid kid that i was i let things get awkward and eventually we turned to strangers for the next 3 years after that.. i have her on Facebook but never talked to her (i'm not too big on online game for the opening point, i'm good after the initial face to face interaction).
letting me and her turn to strangers was one of my biggest regrets and i find myself thinking about her a lot lately.

i just recently followed her on instagram and she followed back.

i really want a second chance with this girl, but i'm so afraid if i message her i would just seem weird.
i really want to know if there's something i can do here.. i mean if i were to see her somewhere face to face (depending on the circumstances) i wouldn't have a problem striking up a conversation and suggesting we hang out and catch up sometime, but its highly unlikely that i'm just going to bump into her.
What do i do?!?!?!
