I've been reading a lot of PUA material lately and a theory I keep coming across is to not compliment the girl at first or neg her. I just started watching the tv series Keys To The VIP though and it seems they always compliment the girl within 10 seconds of approaching...

Compliments are a weird thing,the problem with compliments,its who they coming from,if a hb10 compliments you,you will feel like the shit,if a hb1 compliments you,would you really care seriously. I believe if you a supermodel go ahead compliment women,its will seriously be a compliment for them,but for hot girls hb8s and above I seriously believe you should not,they get it all the time,and sometimes from guys who are better than you. Avoid initial compliments,eventually when your compliments actually mean something to her you can.

Be especially careful complimenting a girl's looks. Best to compliment their personality, or after you've established attract/disqual and are building comfort/rapport. Well delivered compliments can be deadly, as I know I feel pretty damn good when a girl (or anyone really) gives me a genuine compliment.

Think about when you receive a shallow (read: physical) compliment - a small ego boost, but it's just an affirmation that you're being checked out. HB's KNOW you are checking them out.
