Off the top of my head: Cop, firefighter, navy seal, army vet, mob gangster, superhero (hulk, captain America, thor, etc. etc.), hippie, old school tv characters (Cheech n Chong, Flinstones, Jetsons, Addams family), etc. etc.
If you have a partner, do a themed one. Cheech n Chong is great for that.
Seriously, halloween is the one time of year you can dress and act the way you want to - if that means a cop, be a cop. If it means a hippie, be a hippie.
