If I've had a girl as my friend on fb for a few months and I'm in the process of "building myself", would it be a good idea to delete her from fb? I've taken this girl out before, but messed up. Basically I'm moving on, but I want to keep a possible window of opportunity open.

How are you going to keep the "window of opportunity open" while trying to move on? If you really want to move on, delete her. If you want to fix what you messed up, keep her added, have things on your profile that demonstrate your higher value, and ask her out again.

Delete her if you want, I've done this before with my ex's and they always come back for more.
