Just be cool, and keep/create some sexual tension to keep yourself out of the friend zone. Girls are funny, the longer you can keep the tension up, the more likely she will succumb to the emotional state you give her.

As far as eliminating the boyfriend, you can't really do anything directly to make him go away. What you do is just work your own game, and eventually she'll will either break up with him on her own, or you will influence her and win her over, then she'll dump him.
