Over the last year i've taken a greater interest in my looks (gyming- resulting in more chiselled features, fitted clothes,better haircut, shaped eyebrows, better skin care etc.). I have been complimented by men and women alike about my looks recently, however, women in general have behaved rather strangely around me. I have noticed that women have become colder and more aloof than before- despite the fact that more random women stare at me. Just out of interest, i was wondering whether any of you have experienced something similar?

I think it may be the equivalent of a neg. Like they are making you feel like they don't like you since they actually do like you. Another theory is along the lines of why women hate on guys with hot bodies who post topless pictures of themselves in their bathroom mirrors. A hot guy is empowered and has his choice when it comes to women. Women, being the way they are, want to steal that power back so they belittle the guys eventhough the guy is exactly what they want in a man, hot and confident.

Unless you're so hot that you're the "Brad Pitt" of normal men, I don't think chicks should show signs of rejection even before an approach. Perhaps it's you being conscious that either makes you think this happens or gives off a "this guy's got attitude" vibe.

I think there is something to it. I'm a good looking guy. I never thought this at all until I went to college, and friends started telling me. I guess it was a confidence thing before.

However, I've never (not once) in my life had a girl approach me. I've no doubt it is somewhat your persona, but surely if you're a half decent looking guy, some girl is going to pluck up the courage even if you're not giving off any vibes.

Maybe there is some intimidation there. All I know is, all my friends who aren't so lucky in the looks department get approached all the time.

That's not wrong. It's observationally true. However, women like gay guys and good looking straight guys, so wearing fitting clothes and shaping your eyebrows will only just attract women. This may be faggetty, but it's in no way a problem. It actually helps you get women.

I dont know about that though. You are correct about the fact that there women who would like that. From my experience though there is a woman for every type of look. So really I think it doesnt really matter how you look as long as you can carry it confidently.

Being healthy and moderately groomed is definitely a-must though since it is the ONE THING (i know theyre two) that 99 percent of women like.

Women may not open hot guys, but they'll definitely flirt with them and give them all kinds of IOI's. My theory is that women are 10 times more afraid of rejection than guys are, so they would be tramautized by a man publicly rejecting her and sending her on her way (something that happens to pua's on a regular basis).

Totally agree with this, I got punched in the neck (tried to block but pushed her fist down) because I refused to give a girl my number. Obviously she was an extreme case but she couldn't hack the rejection in front of her peers. Women don't take rejection well at all, imagine role reversal and you were a woman. You have your pick (almost) from all the men in the crowd flexing there muscles and all other forms of AFC attraction route's. Then all of a sudden this one guy you really do like tells you no! He must be way too cocky, socially inept, or an asshole, "no matter he wont be getting these goods tonight." They are engineered to be approached because they are the "prize". How could someone turn down the prize? Especially when its there ego!?

You see what I mean.

So to the OP id say you're right, they are scared to approach you because you have put yourself high enough on the pecking order to maybe reject them. Now THEY need to bring YOU down a few pegs so they face less chance of rejection. Sound similar to some tactics you have read about?
