as a magician / mentalist I get pulled around alot at work Like people will yell at me' hey come do a trick' an stuff like that an I feel like im in kind of a weird position because i love entertaining people an all the crazy reactions I get but I dont want to be told what to do an when to do it but its almost like if you dont do it your being a lazy entertainer Im not so sure how to deal with this problem what would be a good way to build anticipation an use this attention to my advantage ?

I feel you on this one man. It's on been these past couple of months that I've hung up the please-everybody-coat. Turn the tables a bit. Don't step out of your house with the mind set of using your skills to entertain people. Instead, leave your house with the mindset that you're going to entertain yourself by observing how you can instill emotions and imagination into the people that listen to you/watch you. And sure, entertain when they ask, but if you feel like you're being treated like a sucker, just simply tell them, "I can't right now."

You could always pull a "middle finger out of the hat" or say stuff like "I charge more than you make".

I really like the whole "needy" scenario. If it's a girl who calls you over to a group and you are interested in gaming that girl, go over and speak to the group: "Wow she's so needy! You guys can't take her anywhere." Everyone laughs. Then excuse yourself and go talk to someone else or do the whole "pay me" thing or a "what do I get?"

Yeah, this situation made me think of hoop theory - make them jump through your hoop and then you will feel a lot happier before jumping through theirs!

Iv deff been puting all this to good use the other day this girl at work asked me to show her a trick an I said no you show me something then boom basicaly set myself up she motioned her hand in her pocket an then pulled out a middle finger I was like wtf an laughed an then walked away but I got the last laugh because later on I did an old watch steal trick on her an now I cant get people to leave me alone 8/ Its getting crazy
