College, HB8, LJBF

Right so there's this HB8 in college that I know. I had it going with her at the start, but I missed out somewhere in terms of escalation. Nevermind, once I realized my chances with her were low due to being somewhat friendzoned, I more or less stopped engaging with her much.

My question is, when a girl has expressed her LJBF intentions, why is she still so clingy?

No I do NOT compliment her all the time (in fact, not at all. Might have negged her more of late in fact), no she does NOT have a higher social status than I do, No I do NOT try to be my best self around her, no I'm NOT her emotional/sweet/supportive guy. Like I said, I don't even try to hit on her anymore. Therefore, I'm NOT her ego-boost OR emotional support.

Yet she wants to text all the time, hang out all the time, makes me want to stop smoking, so on and so forth. It's like my phone is her twitter. Did this, did that, feel this, feel that. And that, when I rarely respond.

Why? Her attention needs are not being fulfilled by me. She does not feel sexually attracted towards me, therefore I don't see a reason behind being SO clingy towards me. She knows there are other girls who I hit on and if she did feel the jealousy, she'd show it, but doesn't.

If anyone could provide insight into this weird female psychology bit.
