Short intro: Let's just say I'm probably older than most of you. I'm CERTAINLY older than the 4 guys pictured at the top of this site; probably any two combined. I always had solid game and never went looking for help, didn't need it ... probably still don't for the basic stuff. I've got solid openers and do fine still. I also have money which never hurt anyone.

I spent a few weeks stalking some places I wanted to play in, getting to know the staff and regulars, etc. Not to mention updating my way out of date look. Last Friday I decided to test the waters and numbered a cute little 25 year old. I'm not familiar with your fancy number scale yet but suffice to say she is a nice catch for the old guys first cast into the pond.

Here is the kicker and where I'm looking for someone that may have some input on the play to make here. It's an obstacle I'm going to have to get a good toolbox to get around if I ever want more than a pair of dates and a hotel lay. I've got kids. When I say I have kids I don't mean I have some excess genetic material running around somewhere in the world. I mean I have twin daughters (and I will kill all you dirty fuckers if you think about them ). They live with me basically full time that I take care of in every way. So how do you play past that?

For the short term hook up I'm not worried; just keep my personal shit personal and get a suit downtown. Seems girls would be more okay going there than back to my place anyway, given my home is a pretty good drive out of town.

Eventually though I'm gonna hit a girl I want to come clean with.

My girls aren't what I would call grown by any stretch and certainly aren't ready for the boot. They are closer in age to the age women I chase than I am though which just stinks of awkwardness.

Oh well, I figure I'll test flight it with the girl I'm taking out tonight. After the show and drinks I'll run cube, make the flowers = children then draw it in from there. Wish me luck.

So last night went well...

I used cube to open the topic of children and directed the read in such a way as to get her talking about her own desires for motherhood and children etc. Just as the conversation was starting to fade and would need to be changed I almost abruptly mentioned my kids and how I would never treat them like some of the "bad parents" we'd brought up in conversation. She paused at it but didn't jump on it and before it became a central topic I pulled us into a venue shift.

At the next venue I opened the first set I could put my eyes on with, "Hey guys, quick opinion on something we were talking about. Would you go out with a guy if you knew he was or was going to be a crappy parent?" A bit of a loaded question that really only has one answer and it validated my position. Keep in mind, that all this time I was framing the conversations around her cube reading and not my own kids so any negative thoughts she might have on the subject were related to her and not me.

After a few minutes we put the topic behind us and never touched on it again. Full close.
