There is a strong HB8 in my 1st period class (who also shares my 2nd period as well). I had been trying to decide on how to make my move for the first few days of school, and on Thursday it was announced by my 2nd period teacher we would be meeting in the lab the next day. I found this a prime opportunity to make my move as the HB would most likely forget the next morning and I could remind her that we were in the lab and walk her there.
Friday comes and after class I took my time gathering up my things so I would be able to leave shortly after her. I walked a few paces behind her and when she started to head towards the class I called out her name and reminded her we were in the lab. (she seemed surprised, I havent ever talked to her) She told me she had no idea where it was so she would just follow me. (I let out an inner FUCK YEAH! right about here) I smiled said lets go and began leading the way. I made small talk with her asking her why she decided to take math models (the 1st period class) and she said told me it was her blow off class. I agreed and we joked about how it was ridiculously easy, and how we both had trouble staying awake during the lesson. (all was going pretty good). A few times she commented on how her boots were uncomfortable, i think she was fishing for a complement (they did look very good on her) but I didn't give her one.
We got into the main building and I started to lead the way up the stairs (I had the faintest idea of were the lab was) when we ran into one of her friends (an HB7 also in the 2nd period) I stopped for a moment as she greeted her and informed her we were in the lab. I started up the stairs and the friend said something to the effect that she thought the lab was in another direction when the HB8 told her that she would just follow me. (I figure that it is a good sign that she decided to let me lead against her friend). I slowed a bit so they could catch up and continued making small talk as we traverse the halls. I realize that lab is in the freshman center so i head over there and go down stairs (which I out of habit speed down take three at a time without thinking. I realized after i had done it and kind of kicked myself in the ass for it, but they joked that they wouldn't be able to do that or they'd break their neck. We make it to the lab and they start to proceed ahead, I take a few quick steps to beat them to the door. I smile and hold it open as they walk in the HB8 Smiles but seems kind of surprised at my chivalrous act. They go to a table and kinda look in my direction as I walk by (my guess is she expected me to sit with her). but I went to sit at another table. (I figured it would leave her thinking about why I chose not to sit with her). she occasionally glanced towards me during the class.
Later in the day we had a pep rally and she is a member of a 'dance team' similar to cheerleaders and as I walked in I passed by her to get to the stands I gave her a small smile. I noticed through the pep rally and her performance she would glance over at me.
So basically I went from her not knowing I existed to her shooting me glances during class and her performance.
So Im wondering did I do right? Is there anything I could have done better? And mainly WHAT SHOULD I DO TUESDAY WHEN WE GO BACK TO SCHOOL?
