So I was visiting my hometown last weekend, and went to the beach club with my (natural) cousin and total AFC friend. Except for a rare night out a couple years ago when I was in a "I GOT ACCEPTED INTO NURSING SCHOOL!" high when I just talked to every girl, I never have the balls to approach random women in clubs. It usually only happens by accident at the bar, or through a friend. And at this beach club, I knew almost nobody.

I caught this blonde looking my way several times. She looked like someone I went to high school with, or someones old girlfriend. After the third time or so I caught her I just walked right up to her, touched her shoulder and said "Are you having fun trying to recognize me?". She says "Not really, I don't think I know you..." but her drunk friend recognizes me "Aren't you friends with so and so? I'm blah blah" conversation begins, my cousin joins the conversation... but as soon as AFC friend shows up, blonde and her other friend pull drunk girl to the dance floor. Cousin looks to me and says "Hate when bitches do that, pull the drunk chick away from ya". Later when AFC is away "Told you man, [he]'s no good." And he really isn't, poor guy. Dude's 30, fat, greying, balding, and looks like a total creep. Nice guy though.

Moral of story?

The old me would have never had the guts to just walk up to some girl in a CLUB of all places and open. Regardless, I was pretty proud of myself just for doing that. My cousin was quite proud of me too.
