I'm re-watching the two seasons of the VH1 show The Pickup Artist and I'm loving it because it's just so entertaining and it's a nice refresher.

I wonder though if some of the strategies are a bit out there for where I live?

I live in a pretty rough part of London and a lot of the men will regularly kick off (start fights.) In an average night you'll see about 12 guys get thrown out by bouncers. The girls are really really hot but also they seem pretty hostile in general compared to the girls I see on this show. It just seems like a different world.

Do the girls seem more receptive in the show because the pick up artists are better than me OR is it just that girls are more receptive in the states? They all seem so friendly and smiley even in the beginning stages when the guys don't have a clue. The worst they seem to do is walk away.

I ask because I had an experience where I smiled at a girl recently. She wasn't attractive and I was purely being polite because I caught eye contact as I was walking by to the smoking area. She told me to "fuck off" and I stopped as I was genuinely taken aback and curious why she'd shouted at me. I said "hey that's very rude." (still half smiling at this stage and being non threatening.) I was about to walk away and her friend started pushing me and shouting "fuck off just go just go away!!"

I'm totally perplexed man. I've seen people get smashed in the face with bottles because someone spoke to their girl and all sorts that I won't go in to. I think London just seems to be more hostile than a lot of places in America. I could be wrong but I'm just looking for some feed back. Is there a different game to play in the UK compared to the US?

Well I would be pretty sceptical of anything you see in The Pick Up Artist, and yes, there are parts of England I've been to where you just can't risk approaching too many women. I've been glassed when I was in Sheffield for approaching someone's girlfriend inadvertently. It's frankly a miracle that I'm not disfigured and that the scar is virtually invisible.

However, MOST women in England are perfectly friendly in my (admittedly somewhat limited nationwide) experience. You've just got to use a bit of sense, try day game or just go to a nicer part of london.

And yes, American people as a general rule are extremely warm, friendly and courteous and the women are very receptive especially if you have an English accent like mine Of course, I am sure there are exceptions.

Oh and don't use weird routines, be natural, its a lot better and less creepy. English women in particularly will rip the piss out of you and make you look like an idiot if you try to read their palms or any of that crap.

I'm kind of in limbo with the nicer parts of London and the rougher parts. There are pros and cons for both.

Nicer parts are safer for sure but also much more expensive. I remember paying £25 for 2 single vodka red bulls in Mayfair. Also the girls seem to all be after money.

The rougher parts are dangerous but the drinks cheap, the music's good and the girls seem more up for a good time.

I guess I need to find a place which is in between. Maybe I'll just have to move to America lol.

As much as I respect him. I'd love to see Mystery come to Canning Town, West Ham or Brixton just to see how his game would adapt to his surroundings. I can see MUCH less negging happening lol.
